The gateway is the edge of the mesh. Cameras hand it their photos over 915 MHz radio; it hands them to your network. It sits indoors near a window and joins your WiFi. No wiring out to the cameras, no cell plan, no antenna mast required.
The v0.4 gateway board is in bring-up. It comes back the same way the camera board sells: a flashed bare board with its antenna, no enclosure and no bundle. We price it when that board is validated and we know what its parts cost, and not before. Leave your email and you get the number the day it exists.
The gateway software is open source and runs on any computer with an SX1262 module. A Raspberry Pi at the cabin is plenty, and the guide is public. Run the server on that same machine and the whole system works with no internet connection at all — camera to mesh to gateway to your own box, browsable from anything on that network.
